Some of our photos were featured in a Good Morning America segment this week about the increasing role of grooms in wedding planning. Some very-involved grooms, it turns out, have given rise to the name “Groomzilla.”
One groom interviewed for the segment shows that groom involvement need not be unwelcome is Carlos; he and his wife Allison are one of my dearest couples from the 2010 wedding season. Carlos tends to household matters that affect them both– from doing the dishes to choosing Allison’s wedding band to being part of each and every step of the planning. He does so, however, not in a way that collides or competes with Allison’s process, but out of a large reservoir of caring and shared responsibility.
Great collaboration on this event with the newly launched Verdant Floral, a floral business. Also Mike Cyr with Buzz Media made a stunning film. Danielle Elder from Classic Events coordinated. Gourmet Galley prepared the feast. The band’s name is the Beantown Swing Orchestra, based in Boston with an American Idol singer.
To Good Morning America we say, ‘Thank you.’ To Carlos we say, ‘We celebrate you!’
