Block Island Wedding – Bryan and Lauren

With summer fast approaching, I think it is time to remember, celebrate and be inspired by a extraordinary Block Island Beach Wedding. I could use a little sunshine on this rainy day.

Have you ever met people who just love well?  Meet Bryan + Lauren and their families.

Bryan and Lauren  are local folk who spend their weekends boating, fishing, paddle-boarding, surfing and just swimming in the sea. It made sense when they invited friends and family to Block for a weekend of fun. Their local pastor married them on the most beautiful day of summer. Only they would have a rainbow waiting for them on their wedding weekend. The Beachhead was a great venue for a laid back casual affair. The night was filled with warm breezes of the ocean, good chats on the deck and quite a bit of merriment on the dance floor.

Tristan and John – happily in love!

John and Tristan are just the kind and gentle folk whom I adore. We had a beautiful walk with good talks about their life in Boston as we ventured out to make pictures for their engagement. John and Tristan are getting married next September at Saltwater Farms Vineyard. We had a great afternoon with gorgeous light and seaside breeze bearing witness to the sweet gestures of their shining love. Their slideshow here.

CT Style Me Pretty Today! – Lindsay and Paul

We are thankful to Lindsay and Paul for a wonderful day with friends and family. Style Me Pretty loved this wedding for the great design and the candidness of the couple. See the full gallery here.

As a documentary photographer, I take delight in couples such as these who feel comfortable just being true and genuine. No need to do a lot of posed photos, because they want to be with friends and family and they trust in the process. Yes, getting married provides ample opportunity for images, no need for elaborate photo shoots or choreographed poses. They simply loved each other well all day long and I just made the real pictures and guess what? – they and their love shined through and through!

Stonington Wedding Photographer – Justin & Beth Married!

Justin and Beth were married at my parent’s home in Stonington, CT. Justin is the youngest of my four brothers. These two are cute. I love Beth because she has made my brother even more sensitive and loving. He really cried when Beth began to walk down the aisle, such a dear!

They met in their Architecture Program at Yale. They eat, sleep and breathe design. From their personalized hand drawn invitations to their model-inspired seating chart – they really had fun with their wedding details. Beth wears these funky cat eye glasses most every day, but she decided to not wear them on her wedding day. So in a cute gesture she asked the flower girls if they wanted to wear them and they did. A couple of these little girlies are mine and they loved the comfy clothes from H & M for their wedding attire.

There were quite a few DIY elements. The place cards were put in a model replicating the tent. The cake was constructed by our sister-in-law Holly who made the most delicious white chocolate cake I ate all season. The flowers on the tables were created by family members but the gorgeous bouquet was designed and executed by Yumkio from Hana Floral Design. Food was amazing from Shelter Harbor Catering.

Because I love weddings and especially the dancing, I had Jamie Marland come and make pictures of the reception so I could get my groove on. Power Posse Production kept everyone dancing all night. They really are the best around!  I love this photo Jamie made at the end of the night whereby my mom does a split in the Mother-Son dance. Go MOM!!! Jamie is responsible for the cake and reception photos here at the bottom of the post.

Candlelight Farms Wedding Photography – Christine & Ryan

Ryan and Christine are the sweetest couple.  My cheeks always hurt from laughing and giggling as they have such infectious personalities. Married at Candlelight Farms in Milford CT, Christine and Ryan celebrated their love with a farm-inspired elegance.  Candlelight Inn is exceptional in that it sits high on a hill and the views are magnificent. The Inn is known to do large events as well which is great for those looking for a venue as there are few places that can accommodate 200+ guests. Christine’s mother did the flowers because their florist fell down some stairs and was not able to do them. What a mom!!!!  I discovered a new caterer in the other side of the state – meet Event Caterers with Joe Yorio. They were great at sourcing local food – one my passions. They had a spread of cheeses, nuts, wines that all featured local culinary talent. In addition they roasted a pig on the property for dinner ( I was not sure about showing those photos here) and lots of organic greens for dinner. For pie cutting they used a local pastry chef known for her apple pie.  Mike Cyr from Buzz Media and I made the memory for the day. Mike is so great, the kindest and most talented videographer in Connecticut.  We left with the most gorgeous bag of hand picked apples which was their favor – such a great idea.
